Biden Makes Student Loan Debt Decision
After getting a rather large amount of pressure from Democrats, President Biden has once again decided to extend the 90-day student loan repayment pause until August.
According to The Hill, the student loan repayment pause was expected to end on May 1st.
Breitbart reports that the pause was initially placed to give workers some relief during the pandemic. Now the pandemic is over and the labor market has recovered. Americans with student loan debts now have to repay what they legally borrowed and signed off on.
Currently 41 million borrowers are benefitting from the payment pause. However, far-left Democrats still want an extension on the payment pause to avoid “financial devastation of millions of borrowers.”
Democrats such as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) have been leading the charge to prevent Biden from ending the student loan repayment pause.
