Americans Unable To Afford Critical Grocery Item
Americans are spending far too much money on this.
Eggs, which are known to be one of the most important grocery items that Americans purchase regularly, are now more expensive than ever and it’s causing major issues for American families who are already dealing with President Biden’s sky-high inflation and crumbling economy.
What’s even worse is that Americans are now purchasing more eggs than every before because they depend on it as their main protein source since Beef, venison and other meats have become too pricey thanks to President Biden’s inflation as well.
According to Yahoo, as more demand for eggs grow, the supply of eggs has dramatically decreased due to a number of reasons including avian fly. New data indicates that 58 million birds have been infected with avian flu and is regarded as one of the deadliest outbreaks in American history. These infected birds must be slaughtered immediately which has also decreased the national supply of eggs.
In places like California, one dozen eggs currently costs around $7.37 compared to $2.35 just one year ago. Currently, the national average egg price per dozen is around $3.30.
As a result of these higher costs, many Americans are no longer purchasing organic eggs and are now buying conventional eggs to save money.
