Republicans Defend Middle Class
Biden and the Democrats won’t like this.
With the Republicans now in control of the House of Representatives, they are now voting on a major bill that will cut more than $70 billion in funding that President Biden and the Democrats initially voted to give them to crack down on the American middle class.
According to Fox, Republican Reps. Adrian Smith and Michelle Steel recently introduced the Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act to repeal billions of dollars worth if funding for the IRS so they can hire new agents to target middle class Americans who may not be accounting for every penny that they earn while working.
Rep. Smith condemned the Democrats for trying to crack down on middle class Americans and said, “The last thing the American people need right now are more audits from an out-of-control, bloated IRS. The Inflation Act funding for IRS would lead to the hiring of 87,000 new IRS employees tasked with raising enough revenue to pay for Democrats’ Green New Deal priorities.”
Rep. Smith went on to say it was absolutely “unacceptable” for Democrats to try and attempt to do something like this.
“Our bill leaves in place funding for customer service and IT improvements because IRS is in desperate need of reform, but it protects middle-class families from audits they cannot afford,” Smith added.
It is unclear if Republicans will succeed at stopping the Democrats from beefing up the IRS however it’s hard to see who will stop them with them now in control of the House.
