According to CBS, The United States economy shrank at a 0.6% annual rate from April through June. This is a slight upgrade from its initial estimate and a sign that this year’s drop in growth is less steep than originally feared. 

Gas Cars Banned

The state of California has just decided to ban the sales of all new cars, trucks and SUVs that are gas powered by 2035 in an attempt to reshape the U.S. car market and help prevent climate change.

According to NPR, the new decision by the California Air Resources Board will not eliminate gas-powered vehicles however it will just prevent the sale of them in their state.

Californians can continue to drive gas-powered vehicles and even purchase used ones after 2035 however they cannot be new cars.

Furthermore their new plan also lets one-fifth of sales after 2035 to be plug-in hybrids which are able to run on batteries and gas.

Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom explained, “The climate crisis is solvable if we focus on the big, bold steps necessary to stem the tide of carbon pollution.”

One major problem California will have to solve before 2035 is creating enough power/charging stations for these vehicles to be charged. California currently has 80,000 charging stations. They easily need 250,000 by 2035 if they want to make this new law possible.
