Major U.S. Automaker Sells Out To China
Republicans are fuming!
Republicans are now calling out American car maker Ford Motors after they announced that they will be building a battery plant in Marshall, Michigan, in cooperation with none other than a Chinese firm.
According to Breitbart, Ford will create a battery plant and name it the BlueOval Battery Park Michigan which will employ over 2,500 people to begin producing batteries by 2026. What’s frustrating to Republicans however is that Ford will be working with Chinese firm, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) to get supplied their technology.
While Ford will own 100 percent of the plant they will be making battery cells with technology provided by CATL which is the Chinese tech firm.
CATL is the largest electric vehicle battery maker in the world and they have factory across Europe and Asia.
This resulted in Republican House Majority Leader Steve Scalise attacking Ford for getting in bed with a Chinese technology firm. Scalise scolded them saying, “The Biden Administration won’t quit pushing their leftist green agenda even though it makes us dependent on China. This from Ford shows certain companies are fine with that. Shameful. Now more than ever we shouldn’t be relying on China for anything.”
Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn also attacked Ford saying, “We are deeply concerned to learn Ford is partnering with a CCP controlled company. It is inappropriate for US corporations to partner with an adversary in order to sneak into our country. We want all American companies to succeed in America — not by doing business with the CCP.”
