Turmoil Continues In Labor Market

Biden got a big problem.

Just when most of America hoped that the economy would get better, it now appears that many Americans continued to quit their jobs in droves in December 2021.

According to Fox Business, the Labor Department recently announced that 4.3 million Americans, which is around 2.9% of the U.S. workforce, simply quit their jobs in December. In November 4.5 million Americans quit.

Just for clarity the pre-pandemic quit rate was around 3.6 million.

What’s worse is that job openings rose in December reaching 10.9 million.

Some of the problems which have caused these issues are better wages, working conditions and hours as businesses enticing new workers with higher salaries and more.

This new trend is being referred to now as the “Great Resignation.”
