Scammers Targeting Americans
Don’t fall for this new trick!
In a disgusting turn of events, scammers are now targeting parents who are desperately searching for baby formula.
According to Fox, as the Biden Administration claims to be racing to solve the baby formula shortage, scammers are now “selling” baby formula online that is never actually showing up to the customers’ homes.
Father Jeffrey Gouge fell victim to one of these scams when his wife thought she found some baby formula online. “We wanted to have a backup option to have some formula available in the house, just in the event that things don’t work out breastfeeding,” Gouge explained.
Gouge then explained, “We got really worried. I was at work, and she sent me a text and said, ‘hey, I just bought some formula online. She verbatim said, ‘I don’t know how I found it. But I bought it online,’ and it’s one of the scariest phrases that someone can say nowadays.”
He then explained, “The website itself allows you to add anywhere between one case of something all the way to 1,000. And, if you put your credit card on file and you have the money available to place that order, your money will be drafted from your account. And the problem is, they will never be able to fulfill that order.”
It is unclear how many parents have already fallen victim to this disgusting scam but it important to remember that if you are going to buy baby formula online, only purchase it from a reputable source and always check the link.
