Popular Retail Chain Out Of Business?

This is not good.

More than 70 Sears Hometown stores are shutting down and are holding liquidation sales.

According to Axios, over the last 17 years both Sears and Kmart stores have closed many of their doors and cut 250,000 jobs and problems continue to get worse.

Furthermore, both of those stores which are owned by Sears Holding filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2018 and soon after was purchased by Eddie Lampert’s Transformco.

Transformco then purchased Sears Hometown stores in 2019. Transformco did not explain which of their exact stores would be closing however several of the stores posted on their Facebook pages that they would be going out of business.

Axios further explained, “The store closing or liquidation sales will vary in length and discounts, according to the social media posts.”
