Kamala Put In Charge Of What?
Oh no, things will never get fixed now!
President Joe Biden departed for an international trip, handing over the responsibility of being briefed on the ongoing debt ceiling negotiations to Vice President Kamala Harris.
According to Breitbart, on Wednesday, President Joe Biden embarked on a trip to Japan, while negotiations for a potential debt ceiling agreement between Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and the White House were ongoing.
In President Biden’s absence, Vice President Harris took part in a “virtual briefing” regarding the ongoing negotiations on the debt limit.
Ronna McDaniel, Chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), issued a statement strongly criticizing the Biden administration for its perceived lack of leadership during the negotiations.
Ronna McDaniel, in a written statement, remarked, “While Joe Biden has left the country, border czar Kamala Harris is now involved in debt ceiling negotiations despite presiding over the worst border crisis in history. The Biden-Harris administration’s lack of leadership creates crisis after crisis, leaving American families to suffer the consequences, but they don’t care.”
Chad Gilmartin, the deputy spokesman for McCarthy, expressed in a statement, “As House and Senate Republicans hold a press conference on a responsible debt limit increase, President Biden departs for Asia…”
Amid Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s warning that the federal government may reach the debt limit by June 1, the most recent meeting between the White House and McCarthy focused on the issue of the debt ceiling. This impending deadline has intensified the pressure on both President Biden and McCarthy to reach a mutual agreement.
