Is GOP Wrong To Go After Social Security Like Trump Says?
GOP Threatened Over Social Security
In a surprising turn of events, former President Donald Trump issues a stern warning to Republican Senator Rick Scott to “fight for Social Security and Medicare” and told him to make sure there is not even a small cut to either of the programs.
According to The Hill, Trump initially endorsed Scott to replace Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell however Trump appears to have quickly changed tune after the powerful conservative advocacy group known as Club for Growth endorsed Scott earlier this week.
Trump took to Truth Social and criticized Scott for taking their endorsement and wrote, “Bad news for Senator Rick Scott of Florida! Club for NO Growth just announced they are going to back him, and without my backing them, an Endorsement from them is the kiss of death.”
Trump then talked about Social Security and Medicare saying, “Be careful, Rick, and most importantly, fight for Social Security and Medicare. THERE WILL BE NO CUTS!”

Trump doubled down on the group and said, “The Club for NO Growth, an assemblage of political misfits, globalists, and losers, fought me incessantly and rather viciously during my presidential run in 2016. They said I couldn’t win, I did, and won even bigger in 2020, with millions of more votes than ’16, but the Election was Rigged & Stolen.”
