Thanks to certain food shortages caused by supply chain issues thanks to the Biden Administration there are a number of foods that Americans may have trouble finding in 2023.
She Finds has compiled a list of several foods which many Americans will likely have trouble finding this year.
1. Bread – Believe it or not but bread may be harder to find in 2023 due to a massive lack of grain in the United States caused by the Russia-Ukraine war.
2. Sunflower & Palm Oil – Currently 52% of the globally traded sunflower seed and oil came from Ukraine. The invasion of Ukraine has severally hindered sunflower & palm oil production.
3. Champagne – Extreme weather conditions which is being referred to as climate change has impacted the production of Champagne.
4. Beers, Canned Food & Pet Food – While these may seem like a strange combination of items, the aluminum shortage has impacted production of these products which are often sold in aluminum cans.
5. Lettuce – Since 2021, the price of lettuce has shot up by 20%. A disease called impatiens necrotic spot virus (INSV) is affecting the production of lettuce.
6. Beef – American ranchers have face a long list of issues which has impacted beef production. Severe droughts have forced farmers to lower their cattle supplies.
