This One Food Is More Expensive Than The Rest
This has become too expensive.
The cost of beef has outpaced all other foods and as a result many Americans have decided to but back on their beef consumption.
According to Fox, as a result of prices going up of beef, restaurants are also having to raise their prices as well.
Some restaurant owners are also cutting back on their beef based menu items and are offering other types of meat to their customers.
Arthur Bryant’s Barbecue owner Jerry Rauschelbach explained, “We have just two items on our menu that are beef oriented — that is the brisket sandwich and the burnt ends.”
Furthermore, at Arthur Bryant’s a 12 oz. brisket sandwich costed $10.95 last year. In January the same sandwich costed $15.95 and today it costs $17.95.
“I thought it was ridiculous. I was embarrassed by it,” explained Rauschelbach.
