Florida Delivers Bad News To Disney
Disney won’t be happy about this.
After Disney attacked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for passing a new parental rights bill, the Florida Senate has responded by passing new legislation to end Disney’s special tax privilege and self-governing status for operating in the state of Florida.
According to the NY Post, the vote was passed 23-16.
The move came after Governor DeSantis decided to call a special session to file new legislation to terminate all special districts in Florida.
“I am announcing today that we are expanding the call of what they are going to be considering this week. And so yes, they will be considering the congressional map, but they also will be considering termination of all special districts that were enacted in Florida prior to 1968, and that includes the Reedy Creek Improvement District,” DeSantis said during a press conference.
Disney will now lose the major benefits they once had in Florida which saved them a lot of time and money for operating in Florida.
