Major Fast Food Chain Profits From Poor Economy
They somehow profited.
Fast food giant McDonald’s somehow managed to actually make profits in the United States even though most of America is struggling financially.
According to Fox Business, McDonald’s sales surged in the first quarter in part thanks to rising prices across the entire industry.
The sales for McDonald’s stores increased by 3.5% between January through March even though they were dealing with an “increasingly complex and uncertain operating environment” the McDonald CEO explained.
CEO Chris Kempczinski further explained that they were able to gain profits via their decision to implement “strategic menu price increases” and “strong marketing promotions featuring the core menu and growth in digital channels.”
