Democrats Set To Blow Trillions
Will this make inflation worse?
Senate Majority Leader and Democrat Chuck Schumer recently stated that he believes the Senate could soon pass the new $1.7 trillion 2023 government funding package by this Wednesday to avoid a government shutdown.
In transcript provided by The Hill, Schumer explained, “The Senate took the first step to passing this bill last night, voting 75 to 20 to begin to debate.”
Schumer added, “We must finish our work before the deadline of Friday midnight, but, in reality, I hope we can vote on final passage much sooner than that, even as early as tonight.”
The House and Senate are also preparing to receive an address from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with Congress planning on giving Ukraine $45 billion in aid.
Schumer also urged Congress to cooperate and put an end to their bitter quarreling saying, “But again, that’s going to require cooperation. So, I urge my colleagues not to stand in the way of moving this process forward. Nobody wants a shutdown.”
