Democrats Looking To Ban What Now?
This is just foolish.
Democrats in Colorado have implemented a ban on the building of new gas stations as part of their efforts to address the issue of climate change.
According to Daily Mail, during a recent city council meeting in Louisville, a town situated 20 miles away from Denver in Boulder County, it was revealed that a prohibition on new gas stations would be put in place, with a limit of six stations being imposed to serve the town’s 21,000 inhabitants. The announcement was made on Tuesday.
Presently, the town has five existing gas stations, and an application for the construction of a sixth one is currently under review. Unless the recent prohibition is overturned, it is expected that this sixth station will be the last one built in the town.
It is worth noting that an exception exists, which permits the construction of a gas station as part of a substantial retail complex, such as a Walmart.
One of the council members, Maxine Most, shared that while she believes it is a positive step to reduce carbon emissions as it conveys a message, she also acknowledges that it is unlikely for a single action by either the council or the community to entirely solve the problem of climate change.
The prohibition on new gas stations in Louisville is one of the most recent examples of efforts made across the country by Democrats to combat climate change. Various cities in California have been enacting comparable limitations since 2021.
