Democrat Blames WHO For Inflation?
They are looking for a scapegoat.
As inflation continue to skyrocket across America, the cost of one of the most important items is rising: Food!
Sadly, it appears that Democrats aren’t blaming themselves or the legislative actions of President Biden for the rise in foods cost, but instead are now blaming supermarket chains.
According to Fox Business, Sen. Elizabeth Warren is now accusing three major grocery store chains for exploiting the covid-19 pandemic to raise their profits.
Warren is pointing the finger at Publix, Kroger and Albertsons for allegedly raising prices because they know Americans will be forced to purchase them amid the pandemic and during the supply chain shortage.
“Your company, and the other major grocers who reaped the benefits of a turbulent 2020, appear to be passing costs on to consumers to preserve your pandemic gains, and even taking advantage of inflation to add greater burdens,” Warren said in a statement.
In November alone consumer prices shot up by 6.8% compared to last year alone.
Furthermore, Fox noted that the year over year prices for food increased by a large amount. Here’s how much more basic food items costed since last year: beef (20.9%), bacon (21%), pork chops (12.7%), fish (8%) and chicken (9.2%).
“Your companies had a choice: they could have retained lower prices for consumers and properly protected and compensated their workers, or granted massive payouts to top executives and investors,” Warren said. “It is disappointing that you chose not to put your customers and workers first.”
While it could be true that these grocery stores did exploit the American people for additional profits, there is no doubt that President Biden has caused inflation to spike in America.
