Cheapest Days To Buy Gas

by Market FinancePosted onMay 1, 2023May 1, 2023

Don’t miss out on these critical days!

As the temperature rises, the prices of gas also tend to increase, which is regrettable.

According to The Hill, the prices of gasoline, which are currently averaging around $3.60 across the nation, are anticipated to increase in the upcoming months as we approach the busiest summer travel period.

Undoubtedly, not all the fuel stations in your locality will have identical prices. However, economizing on gasoline expenses not only requires being familiar with the places where you can fill up your tank at lower prices but also recognizing the optimal time to do so.

According to Patrick De Haan, the lead petroleum analyst at GasBuddy, gas prices are usually at their lowest at the start of the week, particularly on Mondays and Tuesdays. As the week progresses, fuel prices tend to increase and peak on weekends, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays.

De Haan speculated that energy markets might remain shut down on weekends, while they remain operational from Monday to Friday. Therefore, by the time the weekend approaches, fuel stations might reflect any price hikes that occurred earlier in the week.

Additionally, De Haan mentioned that there is an essential government report released every Wednesday, which can significantly impact the wholesale oil prices.

Essentially, as the price of oil increases during the week, fuel stations may transfer this expense to customers to avoid incurring losses.

De Haan suggested that one should always compare the gas prices at different stations as they can differ considerably from one block to another. By paying attention to these variations, you can save a considerable amount of money ranging from $100 to $200 or even $300 per year.
