While President Biden continues to accuse Republicans of trying to destroy social security and medicare benefits, history shows that then-Senator Joe Biden attempted to cut all federal programs, including social security, every year for four years straight when he was a new senator in 1975!
As you may already remember, during his most recent State of the Union Address, President Biden accused Republicans or attempting to “sunset social security and Medicare. Republicans immediately began booing Biden and the moment went viral.
Now, according to Breitbart, Biden made a radical move to cut social security when he was a Senator and claimed that he was seeking “to sunset all federal programs, including social security and Medicare,” for four years straight by introducing S. 2067 on July 19, 1975.
In 1975 Biden stoor on the Senate floor and said, “It is not just the size of our budget that is staggering, but even more the rate at which it is increasing. We cannot long continue such growth rates in expenditures.”
Biden added, “In brief, this bill limits to 4 years the length of any spending authorization for a program. Furthermore, it requires that each committee make a detailed study of the program before renewing it for another 4-year period.”
“The examination is not just of the increased cost of the program, but of the worthiness of the entire program,” Biden stated.
