No Back To School Supplies For Americans
This could get very ugly.
Just when we thought the United States’ supply chain and economic problems couldn’t get any worse, it now appears that shipping companies and West Coast dockworkers are in a heated discussion over a contract which could lead to a strike!
According to Fox, a recent contract expired between workers and companies which involve around 22,000 dockworkers this weekend.
The contract applies to port ranging from California to Washington state and these ports handle nearly 40% of all U.S. imports. If these workers go on strike this could hit the U.S. supply chain like a hurricane and give President Biden a whole host of new and terrible problems.
In a statement from the Pacific Maritime Association and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) they said in a joint statement, “While there will be no contract extension, cargo will keep moving, and normal operations will continue at the ports until an agreement can be reached.”
As of right now both sides have informed President Biden that there will be no disruptions when it comes to work and the supply chain however if a negotiation aren’t reached in time things could quickly take a turn for the worst.
If these dockworkers go on strike this could leave shelved empty across America.
This means that back to school supplies could be missing for kids right when it’s time for them to go back to school and worse.
