Americans Decline Medical Care
This is troubling.
The number of Americans who are choosing to postpone medical treatments for themselves is growing in the United States due to their inability to pay according to a new Gallup poll.
According to The Hill, the data found that 38 percent of people polled have put off scheduled medical care payments simply because they didn’t have the money which is a 12-point increase compared to the past two years.
27 percent of people polled reported that they delayed treatment in their family for health issues which were considered to be “very” or “somewhat” serious and 11 percent of people delayed medical treatment for health issues which were “not very” or “not at all” serious.
When the data is broken down more in depth, 34 percent of people polled who said they postponed medical care treatment were in the lower-income group.
President Biden has bragged that he has done incredible things for middle and lower class Americans when it comes to healthcare however the fact that 34 percent of the lower-income group has declined healthcare services speaks volumes.
