Your Car Could Be Spying On You
This is a crazy story.
In a move that has angered a lot of Americans, it has now been learned that German automaker Mercedes-Benz is planning to integrate China’s TikTok into many of their dashboards.
U.S. officials including President Biden and Donald Trump have warned that TikTok is spying on Americans.
According to Breitbart, U.S. lawmakers have been debating about banning the social media app entirely however they have not come to a final decision yet.
Even though there is major concerns about China spying on Americans, a larger number of companies are still very eager to work with TikTok due to the apps immense popularity. The new E-class sedan from Mercedes will allow users to download third-party apps like TikTok directly into their vehicles. Mercedes has clarified that these apps and even games will not be available to the driver when the car is in motion, apps like TikTok spying raises big concerns.
Congress recently approved a ban of TikTok on all federal government devices in December and nearly 24 states followed the same policy almost immediately.
Mercedes is a German company that does not have nearly as much aggression towards China as the United States does. It will be very interesting to see how all of this plays out.
