White House Raises The Cost Of What?
You can thank President Biden’s inflation for this.
The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is considering raising the cost of mailing a letter or bill by three cents during the summer, as a response to the rising inflation caused by the Biden administration. This decision follows a warning issued earlier by the USPS, and was made public on Monday.
According to Breitbart, Starting from July 9, customers of the United States Postal Service (USPS) will have to pay higher prices for mailing services. This price increase was previously announced and is now set to take effect.
It has been reported that the cost of a First-Class Mail Forever stamp could potentially rise by 5.4 percent, from the current price of 63 cents to 66 cents due to the USPS price hike that is set to take effect on July 9th. This increase in price could have an impact on the cost of mailing letters and bills for USPS customers.
The proposal to increase prices for USPS mailing services was first suggested in October of last year. This decision came at a time when food stamp benefits were also being increased by 12.5 percent, as many Americans were struggling to afford the rising cost of food. President Joe Biden had previously referred to the price increases under his administration as “temporary,” but it appears that the USPS is taking action to address the impact of inflation on its operations.
According to UPI, the proposed price adjustments for USPS mailing services would not only affect the cost of mailing a one-ounce letter, which could increase from 63 cents to 66 cents, but also impact the price of domestic postcards, which may go up from 48 cents to 51 cents. Furthermore, international postcards and letters could also see a significant increase, rising to $1.50. These changes could have a notable impact on customers who regularly use USPS mailing services.
In addition to the proposed price increases for mailing services, the USPS has also requested approval to raise prices for other services such as certified mail, post office box rental fees, money orders, and postal insurance fees. The USPS has stated that it relies on postage and service fees to fund its operations, and does not receive any tax dollars for its operating expenses. The requested price adjustments may be necessary for the USPS to continue providing its services and maintain its financial stability.
