White House Feuds With Oil Companies
This is a mess.
A Department of Energy spokesperson has just explained that the United States fuel supplies are “unacceptably” at or near 5-year lows due to hurricane threats and is pressing oil industries to “do more” to address the gas prices and fuel supply demands.
According to Reuters, these comments from the Department of Energy comes after the chief executive of Exxon Mobil Corp warned President Biden not to limit their U.S. fuel exports.
The Department spokesperson explained, “The nation is facing serious risks from hurricanes and in some parts of the country, oil and gas supply levels are unacceptably at or near 5-year lows.”
“The administration has impressed upon the oil and gas industry that it must do more to ensure fair prices and adequate supply for all Americans, while meeting the needs of our allies,” the spokesperson continued.
It appears that President Biden and major oil companies are secretly feuding with each other about oil prices. Biden is insisting that they do not raise gas costs due to bad weather circumstances because the midterm elections are around the corner and he doesn’t want Democrats to lose. The oil industry is saying there is nothing they can do.
