On Tuesday, the Biden administration disclosed new grants of $2.5 billion to finance the establishment of electric vehicle charging stations and alternative fueling infrastructure.
President Biden and the Democrats have been pushing hard to increase electric vehicle sales in America and his move only adds to their agenda.
According to Fox, The funding, which will be disbursed over a five-year term, will be provided through the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program.
According to the Department of Transportation, this move is a significant move in achieving President Biden’s objectives of constructing a national network of 500,000 public EV charging stations and reducing national greenhouse gas emissions by 50%–52% by 2030.
President Biden’s Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg explained, “By helping bring EV charging to communities across the country, this Administration is modernizing our infrastructure and creating good jobs in the process. With today’s announcement, we are taking another big step forward in creating an EV future that is convenient, affordable, reliable and accessible to all Americans.”
