Unemployed Americans Desperate For Help
This is not good.
In what is likely a surprise to President Biden and his administration, new jobless claims are UP according to new data released by the Labor Department.
According to Axios, jobless claims rose by 21,000 to 218,000 just for the week ending on May 14th. The rise in jobless claims brought the grand total to an average of 199,500.
The good news however is that even with this spike in jobless claims, the total number of Americans receiving continued unemployment benefits was at an over five decade low for the week ending on May7th.
The :abor Department further explained, “The economy added 428,000 jobs in April and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 3.6%.”
