U.S. To Auction Off Land
Here’s what is going to happen.
The United States is now expected to auction off around one million acres of the Alaskan coast to allow new oil and gas drilling this December. This decision comes from the passing of the recent “Inflation” Reduction Act (IRA).
According to Breitbart, The United States Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is going to put hundreds of thousands of acres off Alaska’s southcentral coast on auction starting December 30th for drilling companies. This new lease sale must be accomplished by the end of the year to fall in accordance with the IRA.
The United States will auction off nearly 958,202 acres in Alaska’s Cook Inlet which could produce around 200 million barrels of crude oil and 300 billion cubic feet of natural gas.
What’s funny about this news is that not long ago, President Biden actually canceled the lease sale of Alaska’s Cook Inlet.
Hopefully this decision by the White House will result in lower gas prices for Americans however knowing President Biden there is not telling what may happen next.
