Two Household Ingredients In Short Supply Due To Ukraine Conflict
Americans will have to deal with this now.
Ukraine is often referred to as the breadbasket of the world.
Now due to the conflict in Ukraine brought on by the Russian invasion, it appears that Americans will now be dealing with a lack of supply in both wheat and corn.
According to Fox, around a quarter of the world’s wheat is produced by Ukraine and a fifth of the world’s corn comes from there as well and due to the Russian invasion both Russia and Ukraine have had to close their ports.
World Trade Organization Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala alerted the media that this disruption in the supply chain will result in a significant impact on the price of bread and other wheat products.
Additionally, many countries who solely buy wheat and corn products from Ukraine will now have to look elsewhere for their products.
