Stimulus Checks On The Way
Here’s what you need to know…
While the COVID-19 pandemic is behind us, it looks like stimulus checks are now becoming a common occurrence, at least for residents in Washington.
While President Biden and Senate Democrats cannot step up to the plate to give relief to Americans, local state leaders are doing their best to help.
According to Newsweek, Washington’s Department of Revenue has just launched the Working Families Tax Credit which could dish out up to a $1,200 refund for people who qualify.
This new tax credit aims to benefit more than 400,000 low-income households in Washington. People will be eligible for this tax benefit if they based on their income level and how many children are in their household.
A single person can get up to $300 through the tax credit and the benefit increases by $300 for each child up to a maximum of $1,200 for families that have 3 or more kids.
Washington Governor Jay Inslee explained, “Programs like the WFTC are righting this upside-down tax structure by making Washington’s tax system less regressive.”
Additionally people who file their taxes with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) will also be eligible for this benefit as well.
