Schumer Puts America On Crash Course
Democrat leaders are refusing to negotiate and are willing to risk America because of it.
On Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer refused to cooperate with Republicans and stated that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s spending and debt bill has no possibility of advancing in the Senate and would drive the United States towards default. Schumer’s comment came one day after the proposal was made public.
Sadly however only one moderate Senate Democrat with common sense, Joe Manchin, is advocating for negotiations rather than an immediate dismissal.
According to Newsmax, Senator Joe Manchin, a Democrat from West Virginia, has urged President Biden to initiate negotiations by proposing a plan for actual spending reductions and deficit reduction in the interest of the nation. He said, “For the sake of the country, I urge President Biden to come to the table, propose a plan for real and substantive spending cuts and deficit reduction, and negotiate now.“
The Republicans and Democrats have been at odds over the US debt bill. The debt bill is a crucial piece of legislation that determines the amount of money that the government can borrow to fund its operations, including funding for critical programs like healthcare, education, and national defense.
Republicans have been advocating for spending cuts and limited government spending as a means of reducing the federal deficit and controlling the national debt. They argue that excessive government spending could lead to inflation, reduce the value of the US dollar, and ultimately harm the economy.
Democrats, on the other hand, have been pushing for increased government spending on social programs and infrastructure, arguing that it is necessary to address issues like income inequality, climate change, and unemployment. They believe that government spending can stimulate the economy and create jobs.
