VIDEO: Republicans Put Social Security At Risk?
Tensions are higher than ever before.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy vowed to Americans that they would do everything in their power to ensure that social security and medicare benefits would not be touched at all while negotiating with Democrats and President Biden about the debt ceiling.
Republicans are aiming to cut back on Democrat government spending and want to avoid cutting back on social security and medicare benefits. Now, a new message from McCarthy had left many Americans fearful that McCarthy and the GOP may flip on social security and medicare.
According to Breitbart, McCarthy pleaded with Democrats after having a meeting with President Biden to negotiate fairly with the GOP. McCarthy called on them to find common ground and have understanding.
McCarthy went on to say that he and Biden had a “good first meeting,” where they shared their opposing opinions on a range of different issues.
“We promised we would continue the conversation and we’ll see if we can get there. I think that at the end of the day, we can find common ground.” McCarthy said appearing not very confident.
McCarthy repeatedly pointed out that both parties have very different perspectives on the issue causing some Americans to be concerned.
