Republicans Boycott Biden
They aren’t standing down.
Republicans are now planning to boycott a Senate Banking Committee meeting as they level ethics allegations against one of President Biden’s Federal Reserve nominees. As a result of this new information Democrats are fighting back against the Republicans and saying what they are doing is baseless and unfair.
According to Fox News, Republicans are going after Biden’s nominee Sarah Bloom Raskin and accusing her of influence peddling after she left from a position in the Obama administration.
After the shocking accusations against Raskin was made, the White House, the Kansas City Fed the company which was influenced and Raskin herself are completely denying all allegations.
Republican Banking Committee ranking member Pat Toomey stated, “Committee Republicans aren’t seeking to delay her vote. We’re seeking answers. Until basic questions have been adequately addressed, I do not think the committee should proceed with a vote on Ms. Raskin.”
This boycott by Republicans won’t only affect Raskin, it could also affect Federal Reserve Chairman Pro Tempore Jerome Powell who is up for another term.
