Republican Tears Into Buttigieg Over Supply Chain Crisis
They have several demands.
Republican Rep. Dusty Johnson is leading a group of politicians demanding for President Biden’s Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to come out and deal with the supply chain crisis.
They are also calling on Buttigieg to change the federal policy which restricts truck drivers who are under 21 from crossing state lines.
According to Breitbart, Johnson wrote to Buttigieg and said, “DOT [Department of Transportation] is asleep at the wheel. America is dealing with a supply chain crisis and the Biden administration isn’t taking tangible steps to fix the problem.”
Johnson then demanded they drop the federal age requirement from 21 down to 18 years old. “This pilot program could add more than 3,000 truck drivers to an industry that desperately needs workers,” Johnson explained.
Rep. Josh Harder (D-CA) also called on President Biden and Buttigieg to act immediately. Harder asked the government to step up and give business and workers the chance to do their job and fix the supply chain crisis.
“I’m calling on the Biden administration to cut the ridiculous red tape so our truck drivers can get to work and our economy can get moving again,” Harder explained
