Recession On The Horizon
Here’s what could soon be happening…
Former Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President Dennis Lockhart recently sat down with Fox and warned that there is now the potential of a recession happening in the United States in the very near future.
Lockhart further explained that while there is a possibility of it happening he believes the chances are low.
According to Fox, Lockhart came on to discuss a prediction made by economist Nancy Lazar that a “significant global slowdown” and “a risk of a global recession” is plausible in 2023.
Lockhart explained, “We are a global economy, many companies are globally based, and the tightening cycle was already set to slow the economy here in 2023 and the Fed would obviously make it worse, but so would Russia, big time, and that’s why we raised the specter from the first time of a global recession possibly in 2023. I hope not, but it is what it is.”
Lockhart then explained, “all kinds of things can happen” since the United States is in a “sensitive geopolitical situation” and “there could be a shock in that regard.”
