Pelosi Refuses To Lower Gas Prices
Democrats are in over their heads.
Democrats who are afraid to get unseated in the midterm elections are desperately begging House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to reverse her decision about not allowing a gas tax holiday because they are taking a beating by Americans who are angry over the sky-high gas prices.
According to The Hill, Democrats such as Michigan Rep. Elissa Slotkin criticized Pelosi and said, “I guess they’re focused on things that would be helpful, but they’re longer-term. And I’m focused on the shorter term. And I think that if they came to my district they would see that we have a short-term need that needs to be addressed.”
Many Democrats are worried that if something isn’t done fast to lower gas prices then they will get voted out in the midterms.
Slotkin added, “It’s not perfect, what I’m proposing, but it is something. And if you are from a state where people drive 40 miles one-way to work, you’re interested in whatever helps.”
Democrat Rep. Chris Pappas also supported the idea of a gas tax holiday and explained that it was “the most immediate way that we can deliver some much-needed relief.”
Sadly however, top Democrats such as Nancy Pelosi and others have different plans. This will likely result in Democrats such as Pappas, Slotkin, and many more being voted out this November.
