Newsom Boycotts Major Corporation
This came out of nowhere.
In a strange tune of events, California Governor Gavin Newsom is now declaring war on Walgreens and is saying the state will no longer do business with them over their recent decision to ban abortion pills in 20 states, some of which have no laws banning the pills.
According to Kron4, “We’re done,” Newsom wrote in an angry tweet.
Walgreens recently announced that they will not be selling abortion pills in 20 Republican states. Walgreens decision to ban abortion pills came after the attorney general’s of those 20 Republican states wrote a letter to them saying they could face legal consequences if they sold the pills via the mail.
As a result, a spokesperson for Walgreens said they would no longer dispense mifepristone in the states that were pointed out.
This resulted in Gavin Newsom declaring war on Walgreens and saying that California was a safe haven for women.

Newsom himself condemned Walgreens and wrote, “California is reviewing all relationships between Walgreens and the state. We will not pursue business with companies that cave to right wing bullies pushing their extremist agenda or companies that put politics above the health of women and girls.”
