Lawmakers Steal Tax Dollars
This is some shady business.
It now appears that several states across the country have pocketed the COVID-19 relief money which was given to them by the federal government so they can use that money to fund their personal projects.
According to Fox, not long ago President Biden signed the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan. $350 billion of that money was handed to struggling states who were combatting the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now, it has been discovered those same states decided to save the pandemic money and are now using it to fund their own projects.
One example of this is Broward County, Florida, who spent an astounding $140 million in American tax dollars to pay for a new luxury hotel looking over the Atlantic Ocean with 800 rooms and several amenities.
Dutchess County, New York, used $12 million in taxpayer money to renovate and redesign a Yankees-affiliated minor league team’s stadium.
Massachusetts used their COVID-19 money to pay off debts of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the U.S. Senate.
There are several other cases of local governments from both the Republican and Democrat party using tax payer money to fund their personal projects.
