Democrats To Give Tax Dollars To Who Now?
A rather large number of municipalities across America are now considering giving COVID-19 relief funds to African Americans as slavery reparations which has caused mixed feelings across the United States.
According to Fox, some lawmakers are arguing that using funds from the American Rescue Plan (ARP) for social justice initiatives such as slavery reparations are a complete and total misuse of taxpayer dollars however others actually support the idea and want to roll it out.
Fox News was able to identify at least 10 cities, states and counties that want to do this. Providence, Rhode Island, has already allotted a whopping $10 million of COVID funds to be spent on Providence Municipal Reparations Commission to address “racial equity.”
Shelby County, Tennessee is also considering it as well.
Republican Rep. Byron Donalds has pushed back against the plan and has argued, “There are wide disagreements on this topic. To use pandemic spending on something that Congress did not vote for and approve⦠for localities to say that they’re going to basically repurpose the funds for this, for me, this is outrageous and should not occur.”
