IRS Issues New Refund
At least there is one thing to look forward to.
It has now been learned that the IRS has just announced they will be sending refunds to over a million Americans who filed their taxes late in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Fox, Nearly 1.6 million tax filers are going to immediately get refunds which will amount to a grand total of $1.2 billion which is around $750 per person.
To qualify, Americans should have filed their tax returns by Sept. 30, 2022.
IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig explained, “The penalty relief issued today is yet another way the agency is supporting people during this unprecedented time. This penalty relief will be automatic for people or businesses who qualify; there’s no need to call.”
Furthermore, those who were fined but have not paid yet will see their there penalties eliminated.
