IRS Denies Americans Tax Refunds
Here’s what’s going on…
It has just been learned that the IRS is still dealing with over 21 million paper tax returns that they have not been able to process due to a massive backlog of work and millions of people still haven’t gotten their tax refunds.
According to Fox, National Taxpayer Advocate Erin Collins explained in a new report that 21.3 million paper returns still need to be processed.
Collins explained, “Unfortunately, at this point the backlog is still crushing the IRS, its employees and, most importantly, taxpayers. These processing delays are creating unprecedented financial difficulties for millions of taxpayers and outright hardships for many.”
While most of the taxpayers who submitted their tax returns electronically have been processed, those who submitted it via paper forms, which is around 17 million, are still unprocessed.
IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig warned the America people several months ago that the IRS is grossly understaffed and overworked and to expect long delays.
