Americans in more than 30 states who depend on federal assistance to purchase food are going to see their government benefits decrease dramatically this March.
According to Fox, The U.S. government’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits which were adjusted at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic is expected to come to an end across all of the country on February 2023.
Under President Biden the SNAP benefits for 32 states will now back to normal which means millions of Americans will now lose out on free government benefits.
The following states have already cut their SNAP benefits back to normal: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee and Wyoming.
It is estimated that around 41 million Americans are currently using SNAP benefits to purchase food this new change will cut down the number dramatically under President Biden.
Inflation soared under President Biden and Americans who were using SNAP benefits did not have to worry as much about food prices.
