Governor Sued By Unemployed Americans

Here’s what we know…

Unemployed Americans in Missouri are suing the Governor of Missouri Mike Parson after he decided to end unemployment programs early in an attempt to get more people back to work.

According to Yahoo News, Missouri Jobs with Justice which is a grassroots coalition representing the unemployed claims Gov. Parson ended unemployment benefits on June 12 instead of when it was set to expire on September 6 and that violates the law.

“The Governor’s action directly violated Missouri law, which requires the state to cooperate with the federal government to maximize support for struggling families,” Caitlyn Adams, executive director of Missouri Jobs with Justice, said. “Today, we seek to restore the benefits that were unjustly taken from families and to fight for an economy where all Missouri families are valued and supported.”
