GOP Very Concerned, Biden Loses Control
This is something everyone should worry about.
During the airing of the “Balance of Power” on Bloomberg on Wednesday, Representative Kevin McCarthy, the House Speaker from California, expressed his apprehension towards the debt ceiling. He also acknowledged that investors have valid reasons to worry about the debt ceiling because President Joe Biden has yet to engage in talks about raising it.
During an interview with Bloomberg TV, Annmarie Hordern, the Washington Correspondent for the network, inquired about any potential plans to communicate with Wall Street. Hordern noted that some concerns were beginning to surface.
McCarthy responded, “Yeah. They should be concerned. Because I sat down with the President on February 1 and the President never wants to meet.”
The reporter then asked, “So, all of your communications are just these letters?”
Responding to Annmarie Hordern’s question, Kevin McCarthy expressed his concerns about the debt ceiling and emphasized the need to avoid conflicts. He also pointed out the impact of the Democrats’ spending on inflation and the banking system. McCarthy cited economist Milton Friedman’s view that the government is the only entity capable of creating inflation and blamed the Democrats’ spending for the current situation. Additionally, McCarthy criticized the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act, stating that the costs are significantly higher than initially projected.
