69 Day To Day Products Go Missing From Stores

As you may have already heard there was recently a massive recall on Jif peanut butter due to a salmonella outbreak. Now it appears that not only is the Jif peanut butter being taken off the shelves but also several other products which use Jif peanut butter to make their own products.

According to NPR, a number of products that are made with Jif peanut butter and combined with products such as chocolates, sandwiches and more are being removed from the shelves now.

Affected products that use Jif peanut butter range from everything including fruit or veggie snack packs.

Originally, Jif recalled 49 of their own products but after further investigation it was learned that a number of other brands also contained the company’s peanut butter in them as well. NPR explained that other affected brands included Del Monte’s PB& J sandwiches and some of Albertsons’ store-made snacks.

A total of 69 other products are now being removed from selves.

So far 14 people have gotten sick due to the salmonella outbreak and it has spanned across 12 states. The CDC also explained that “the true number of sick people in an outbreak is also likely much higher than the number reported,” because many people recover without medical treatment.
