Gas Prices After The Midterms
What will happen?
Prices for both gas and diesel are expected to remain high even after 2022 midterm elections. Americans hoping that the midterms would lower gas prices are in store for a big surprise.
According to Fox, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy Patrick De Haan explained, “No matter tonight’s election results: #GasPrices will remain above average, since politicians are not the active reason they’re above average.”
What’s worse is De Haan explained that prices will remain historically high even for diesel prices because these issues are now out of the hands of politicians who can do something about it.
AAA found that the national average for gasoline in America was $3.80 per gallon which is 40 cents higher than one year ago.
Lipow Oil Associates added, “OPEC+ recent cut in production quotas has contributed to tighter supplies.”
President Biden and his administration have said that they are taking steps to solve these problems however all Biden has done so far is drain the United States Strategic Petroleum Reserve which isn’t a dependable or smart solution to America’s problem.
