Elderly Americans Becoming Homeless
This is not good news.
Tragic news is now surfacing of nurses homes across the country shutting down due to a number of financial issues as well as staff shortages and higher than normal operating costs.
According to Axios, an astounding 60% of nursing homes in the United States are currently operating at a financial loss and around 87% of them are worried about closing down due to moderate to extreme staffing shortages.
Furthermore Axios stated stated, A large majority of the nursing homes surveyed said they had hired temporary staff and limited new admissions into the homes in recent months to cope with the shortages, while 99% said they had asked current staff to work overtime.
Americans feel that the United States cannot deal with anymore issues. So far supply chain issues and staffing shortages have hit everything from baby formula to airlines. America cannot deal with a nursing home crisis right now.
