Democrats Target Blue Collar Jobs
This is not good.
President Biden and the Democrats are ruining the lives of a lot of Americans.
A new discovery which was made by Fox News has found that an eco regulations group is now planning to prematurely shut down a coal-fired power plant in Texas and it has sparked massive outrage from middle class Americans.
According to Fox, 2 years ago Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) announced that they were going to shut down H.W. Pirkey Power Plant which is a massive coal plant in Hallsville, Texas in March 2023 however now they appear to want to close it even sooner.
The company operates 11 power plants and it serves an astounding 550,000 customers across three southern states.
Scott Blake, a spokesperson for SWEPCO explained, “One of the factors considered was impact on customer rates for the cost of completing this work. Customers will benefit from this decision. When the announcement was made, we immediately began working with the community to do everything possible to lessen the impacts of the plant’s closure.”
Now locals in Hallsville and the surrounding area are warning that the decision will destroy their towns economy. One man explained, “That’s going to devastate our community. There’s a number of things it’s going to affect, of course, the people not only in Hallsville but all the surrounding areas. Marshall, Kilgore, Carthage, you know, small communities with blue-collar workers, and it’s going to devastate them.”
The man added, “The other thing is, I’m on a fixed income. I’m going to have a tough time paying my electricity bill and, with the taxes going up because of the taxes they draw from the power plant, that’s another downside of it. I just can’t fathom that they’d even think about closing it, to tell you the truth.”
There’s countless other concerned Americans from Hallsville and more that are going to be financially devastated by this. President Biden and the Democrats are pushing for clean energy but the only thing they are cleaning is people’s wallets.
