Democrats Ban More Home Appliances
President Biden is ruining this country.
On Wednesday, Democrats in the San Francisco Bay Area voted in favor of banning the sale and installation of natural gas-powered water heaters and furnaces by 2027, with the intention of reducing air pollution. The ban is set to take effect over an eight-year period.
According to Breitbart, this recent vote is another action taken by left-leaning jurisdictions to discourage the use of natural gas, which is a convenient and relatively environmentally friendly fuel source.
President Biden and other Democrats around the country are applauding the decision by San Francisco.
The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has approved regulations aimed at reducing air pollution caused by household appliances that emit significant amounts of pollutants. The focus of the regulations is to limit the emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are known to contribute to smog, acid rain, and respiratory diseases such as asthma.
Individuals will still be permitted to repair their natural gas appliances if they malfunction; however, the regulations will come into effect when current gas-powered water heaters and furnaces require replacement. Furthermore, new constructions will be mandated to have furnaces and water heaters with zero-NOx emissions, effectively requiring electric-powered options.
The recently enacted policy will not have any impact on gas stoves. However, it aligns with a previous decision by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors from 2020, which banned the installation of natural gas lines in new buildings. Additionally, this policy comes after a recent dispute surrounding a proposal by the Biden administration to explore the possibility of prohibiting the sale of new gas stoves.
