Democrats Put The Squeeze On Biden

Democrats just aren’t giving up on their student loan forgiveness push and are now asking Biden to extend the student loan payment pause which was put in place because of the COVID-19 pandemic until March of 2022.
According to Fox Business, The deadline, which didn’t force graduates to pay back their student loan debt due to the pandemic, was set to end on Sept. 30 and now 64 Democrats are asking Biden for six more months.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and other wrote a letter to Biden saying, “The suspension of payments and interest during the pandemic has provided essential relief to borrowers and their families during this economic and public health crisis. Restarting payments, however, will present a significant challenge for borrowers, loan servicers, and the Department of Education, and we urge you not to let the payment pause lapse when borrowers are still depending on this financial relief.”
