Luxury car maker Mercedes is reaching out to more than 292,000 customers who drive ML, GL, and R-Class vehicles made between 2006 and 2012 and telling them to stop driving them immediately because of a brake issue.
According to Fox, Mercedes is saying that a notice was posted on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website alerting the vehicle drivers that moisture is accumulating which causes corrosion in the cars’ brake booster housing units which results in reduced brake performance.
What’s worse is that in rare cases brake failure has occurred which can increase the risk of fatal crashes and even possibly death.
Owners of these vehicles should expect a notice to be mailed to them starting on May 27th.
